KUALA LUMPUR, 1 November 2026 — MST Golf Group Berhad (“MST Golf”) concluded its sustainability showcase at the Maybank Championship, demonstrating how damaged and discarded golf materials can be recovered, given new purpose and connected to positive community impact.

The showcase formed part of MST Golf’s participation as official retailer and tour support partner of the Maybank Championship, staged from 29 October to 1 November at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (“KLGCC”). As a one-stop destination with outlets nationwide, offering leading golf brands and a full range of golf services, MST Golf brought its offering closer to players and fans on site. At its booth in the Maybank Village, the company offered on-course essentials and on-site SParms customisation, while its Pro Shop at KLGCC remained available for members to explore the full collection.

Visitor takes a closer look at how golf materials are given a second life, from recovery and reuse to community contribution
Presented under the theme “Every Piece Creates Impact,” the showcase brought MST Golf’s sustainability approach to life through a simple journey: Recover, Reuse and Contribute.
At the centre of the activation was a collective tiger artwork created from 2,915 recovered, damaged golf balls in collaboration with Co2_karbondioksida. Visitors were invited to add a golf ball and help complete the artwork. They then learned about the wider material and community impact story and were invited to support two beneficiaries through voluntary donations.

Approximately RM2,640 was raised during the event and shared equally between Kechara Soup Kitchen and MaybankHeart, supporting community initiatives and access to life-saving heart treatment for children with congenital heart conditions.
From Operational Waste to New Possibilities
The showcase also demonstrated how recovered golf materials can move beyond their original use. Damaged golf balls were transformed into a collective artwork, while discarded golf grips were repurposed into coasters and sandals in partnership with Geomax Rubber.
As of October 2026, MST Golf had recovered approximately 5,000 damaged golf balls from its MST Golf Arena indoor golf centres and collected approximately 10,000 used golf grips through grip-change services at participating outlets.

Sandals made from recycled golf grips, on display at MST Golf’s sustainability showcase
MST Golf has also committed 1,000 pairs of upcycled sandals, made from discarded golf grips to Orang Asli communities in Taman Negara through Kechara Soup Kitchen. The initiative addresses an identified need for suitable footwear among community members who may otherwise walk barefoot and face a greater risk of cuts, wounds and related infections.
Beyond golf balls and grips, the display also featured recovered ash generated through GZW RETURN’s treatment of waste diverted from landfill. MST Golf is exploring the material as a potential input for golf products such as ball markers. The concept remains in the research and development stage as the company evaluates new circular applications responsibly before introducing them more widely.
“Every piece we recover represents an opportunity to reduce waste and create something of greater value. Through Golf For Good, we are demonstrating that sustainability is integral to our business, shaping how we operate, how we engage the golfing community and how we contribute to society. When many people take part, even a small individual action can become part of something much larger,” said Sean Ng, Head of Sustainability, MST Golf Group Berhad.

The initiative reflects MST Golf’s CARES Sustainability Framework, particularly its Resilient Environmental Stewardship and Empowering Community Engagement pillars. It also advances the company’s Golf For Good commitment, using golf as a platform to encourage environmental responsibility, community participation and positive social impact.
Moving forward, MST Golf will continue to develop practical ways to extend the life of golf-related materials, strengthen community partnerships and embed responsible practices across its operations and events.
