Golfers Tee Off for a Greater Cause at MST Golf’s First-Ever Community Golf Day

MST Golf and golfers raised RM14,632 in support of National Cancer Society Malaysia’s cancer screening initiatives

Kuala Lumpur, 28 April 2025 – MST Golf Group celebrated a meaningful milestone with its inaugural Community Golf Day at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC), bringing together golfers, brand partners, sponsors, and the golf community for a day of connection, sport, and giving back. Held on April 23, the event welcomed 120 enthusiastic golfers competing in a Stableford 36 format.

The Community Golf Day is part of MST Golf’s 35th anniversary celebration, themed “35 Years of Growing Together,” reflecting the Group’s commitment to growing alongside its community and giving back to society.

A key highlight was the Drive Out Cancer Challenge, organised in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to raise funds for cancer screening among underprivileged communities. The initiative saw golfers giving it their all for a cause, with MST Golf pledging RM5 for every 10 metres driven. Thanks to this collective effort, a total of RM14,632 was raised with MST Golf pledging RM13,425 from the longest drive challenge and RM1,207 contributed directly by generous participants. The initiative not only showcased the power of sport in driving awareness but also highlighted the strong sense of community among Malaysia’s golfing fraternity.

In addition to championing a social cause, the event also stayed true to MST Golf’s commitment to sustainability through its zero-waste approach at halfway huts and refreshment stations. Golfers were encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and refill at designated stations, aligning with the Group’s MST Golf C.A.R.E.S. sustainability framework. “The MST Golf Community Golf Day was a wonderful opportunity to give back, rally support from our brand partners, and strengthen the bond with the golfing community that has supported us through the decades,” said Ng Yap, CEO of MST Golf during the dinner. “Seeing golfers from coming together to swing for a cause made this a truly special moment in our 35-year journey.”

The event was buzzing with excitement as brand activations from Blue Tees, Garmin, and TaylorMade took place on the greens, alongside coffee tastings by JURA and a Tesla test drive experience. True to the spirit of golf, the event fostered new friendships and strengthened old ones through a shared passion for the game.

 

The day concluded with a prize presentation for the Best Score winners in both the Men’s and Ladies’ categories, followed by live music and a celebratory feast. Beyond the tournament prizes, 25 winners walked away with lucky draw prizes totalling more than RM53,000, generously contributed by MST Golf’s brand partners and sponsors. MST Golf will also be bringing the Community Golf Day to Penang and Johor in June, connecting with the golfing communities in the northern and southern regions of Malaysia.
