The role is responsible for overseeing product procurement, ensuring alignment with requirements and budget. Key duties include managing the range plan, budgeting, and monitoring stock levels, with a focus on optimising inventory through effective stock week cover strategies. The position involves identifying fast- and slow-moving products to take immediate action, coordinating with stock merchandisers to allocate stock across outlets, and working closely with suppliers to track delivery timelines (ETA & ETD). Additionally, the role involves sourcing and product development, managing product code creation, maintaining accurate data, and preparing comprehensive reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis to support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
Manage product buying based on requirement and budget.
Manage range plan, budget, stock week cover and inventory levels.
Identify slow and fast-moving products for immediate action.
Work with stock merchandisers on stock allocation to outlet.
Sourcing/development of products.
Liaising with suppliers on delivery ETA & ETD.
Manage code creation and upkeep data.
Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and yearly reports for decision making.
Qualifications/ Skills Needed
Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Mathematics, or its equivalent.
At least 2- 5 years hands-on experience in Retail buying / FMCG / Apparel buying.
Possess analytical ability and negotiation skills and keen eye on merchandising.
Candidates with accounts/finance background and buyers with experience from hypermarket or fast-moving consumers goods (FMCG) are encouraged to apply.
