Club Fitter

Job Summary

The Club Fitter’s primary responsibility is to provide expert custom fitting services to customers, ensuring they receive golf clubs tailored to their specific needs and preferences. Key duties include enhancing the customer experience by engaging with clients, offering professional advice on club selection, and using advanced fitting equipment to help them improve their game. This role’s expertise will contribute to driving sales of custom-fitted clubs, supporting the marketing and promotion of this service. This role will work closely with the team to maintain fitting equipment and provide knowledge transfer to staff, ensuring a high standard of service and customer satisfaction. The Club Fitter should be passionate about golf and committed to delivering exceptional service, contributing to the overall success of the fitting department.

Responsibilities

Club Fitting Services Excellence 

  • To provide professional club fitting services. To conduct 1-to-1 personalised club fittings by analysing swing mechanics, recommending ideal club specifications, and offering custom-fitted or off-the-shelf solutions to enhance customer performance.
  • To deliver exceptional customer experience and to engage with customers through expert guidance and technical insights, ensuring a memorable shopping experience by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and educating them on the benefits of club fitting.
  • To manage fitting facilities & equipment and to ensure all club fitting equipment and software are properly maintained, used exclusively for fitting services, and aligned with company standards, while coordinating with HQ for tools, systems, and product support.

 

Fitting Facilities & Equipment Management 

  • Ensure all equipment and software are used solely for club fitting and testing, with access limited to qualified MST Golf Professionals/PICs.
  • Maintain fitting equipment on-site as company property, only allowing removal with prior Management/PIC approval.
  • Collaborate with HQ for product, tool, and system support, ensuring the latest technologies and fitting methodologies are implemented.

 

Sales & Marketing Support 

  • Drive custom club fitting sales, promoting the benefits of personalised equipment to customers.
  • Support marketing efforts by engaging in promotional activities, such as fitting demos, tour support, academies, and corporate golf programmes.
  • Assist in the execution of brand fitting events, ensuring customers receive high-quality, brand-aligned fitting experiences.

 

Sales Commitment 

  • Achieve or exceed weekly sales target, proactive in promoting products that suit customer needs and cross-selling complementary goods and services to boost sales.
  • Execute in store marketing and promotional displays based on company’s guidelines and support local golf sales events.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and continuous learning for latest golf products, trends, and promotions to service customers’ inquiries.

 

Inventory Management 

  • Monitor stock levels to ensure shelves are always well-stocked, tidy, and reflect accurate inventory levels to avoid customer dissatisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in cycle counts and annual stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy and prevent shrinkage.
  • Assist in coordinating with stock merchandisers and report low-stock or overstock situations to the team to support inventory management.

 

Store Operation & Safety 

  • Maintain store cleanliness to ensure the store is clean, organised, and presentable to reflect the brand’s professionalism and attract customers.
  • Maintain merchandise in accordance with company’s visual merchandising guidelines. Actively participate in all merchandising activities including, but not limited to, daily stock maintenance, product transfers, and folding clothes.
  • Support operational efficiency and to assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and securing the premises.

 

ILG Membership 

  • Register new members: Actively encourage customers to sign up and assist them through the registration process.
  • Promote ILG membership benefits: Educate customers on the advantages of ILG membership, such as exclusive discounts, events, and perks.
  • Build customer loyalty: Cultivate long-term relationships through personalized service and follow-ups to encourage repeat business.

Qualifications / Skills Needed

  • 1-2 years of experience in golf club fitting, repair, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of golf clubs and components.
  • Hands-on experience with club fitting and repair tools.
  • Proven experience in achieving sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong clients focus with an ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and presentation skills.
  • Positive, collaborative, and goal-oriented team member.
  • Friendly, professional demeanour with effective communication.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, honesty, and discipline.

  • Able to commit to rotating shifts (opening & closing hours).
