Golf Retailer Rescues Surplus Groceries with Kechara Soup Kitchen Society

At MST Golf, we believe in the power of golf to bring people together, not only on the green but also in our local communities. Underscoring our commitment to social responsibility, MST Golf went on a mission to rescue and redistribute surplus groceries with Kechara Soup Kitchen Society. This initiative is aligned with our Care Green initiative which focuses on the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and our Sustainability agenda in creating Better Business, Better Environment and Better People.

Divided into two dedicated teams, we set out on a journey to save 80.5 kg of goodness from Lotus’s Jenjarom for Persatuan Rumah Amal Murni Kajang, while Team 2 rescued 88 kg of produce from Lotus’s Rawang and also received 72 pieces of KFC chicken, generously donated to Pusat Jagaan Rumah K.I.D.S in USJ, Subang. It was a day filled with purpose, as Team MST Golf worked tirelessly to ensure that surplus groceries did not go to waste but instead found their way to those who needed them the most.

This collaborative effort provided MST Golf employees with a firsthand educational experience on how local food banks effectively coordinate with grocers and food providers to redirect surplus produce to local communities. The effort aims to reduce the burden on landfills while retaining the nutritional value of the produce for the benefit of local communities.

MST Golf is deeply committed to making a positive impact beyond the greens. This partnership with Kechara Soup Kitchen exemplifies our dedication to creating meaningful change in the world. We anticipate further initiatives of a similar nature, as we strive to be a driving force for sustainability and social responsibility.

As we reflect on this experience, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and supporting organizations like Kechara Soup Kitchen. Their tireless efforts to alleviate hunger and empower individuals in need deserve our ongoing support. If you are inspired by our journey and would like to make a difference, we encourage you to join us in supporting Kechara Soup Kitchen in any way you can. Together, we can continue to make our communities more sustainable and compassionate.
